2/24/2008 Cellphone Issues I went shopping with my mom.
I was running down the sidewalk to put letters in a mailbx.
My cellphone falls out of my pocket and crashes to the ground.
The battery cover ricochets off the cement, twice, as it detaches itself from the phone.
I can't even tell which scratch is new.
Then when we get home, I casually knock my cellphone off the table onto the tiles.
I can't even tell if there is a new scratch.
It seems that 50% of my cellphone accidents happen whilst I am running.
I guess there is only one solution.
I must never run again. 2/19/2008 Hmph. I am enfuriated because non-English students keep saying that English is an easy subject.
Unfortunately I too think this to be true.
On the other hand, it is still a lot of work to pull essays out of your butt every other day; I know that non-English students don't know this since this isn't required in first and second year English, which is all non-English students need to take to fulfill their programs.
However, I don't blame people for thinking English majors are airheads because as I was walking down the English wing the other day, a skinny guy wearing blue leather pants and a plaid french artist cap was waving his coffee around and saying, "Oooh, I looove it when we study character analysis. There are so many different aspects and depths to it; it's soooo intersting."
First of all, "character analysis" MEANS "studying characters". Saying "I love it when we study studying characters" is just stupid.
Second, you are so strange.
Third, if you must be strange then at least try to hide it.
Fourth, you dress like a blind person.
Fifth, now I've offended blind people.
2/18/2008 La de dah ~ Far phoned me on Valentine's Eve, but I didn't pick up.
So he left me a box of chocolates, a bag of gummies, a heart shaped helium balloon, a card, and a rose with glitter on its petals.
And then after an hour when I got off my lazy ass to check my phone, I went and got all this adorable stuff from my doorstep.
I really thought that I wasn't into all this flowers-and-chocolates thing, but somehow it still makes me happy.
My sister saw the rose that I hung upside-down so that it would dry prettily.
She said, "If you want it to dry, then maybe you should take it out of the water pick."
Went to watch Step Up 2 on Saturday.
It was pretty much Step Up 1, except they thought if they switched the cast they could reuse the exact same plot.
To some extent it worked, since the theatre was packed.
My sister rented Liscence to Wed, so I watched it with her.
Mandy Moore is still so awesome in her down-to-earth way.
I don't really know how to feel about the fact that I don't have anything to buy.
Over the last year of enthusiastic shopping I've pretty much stocked up on everything.
Jewelery, boots, dresses, jackets, swimwear...
And I really don't think my room can handle much more clothes.
I got to class early one day and my English teacher came in and apologized to me for "being hard on me".
Basically she thought I was slacking off and was UBER disappointed because I'm so fab and talented, but then decided that I wasn't slacking off after all, and felt bad for being mean about it.
I don't know if she was wrong, because I have a midterm in English tomorrow, and I'm not sure what it's on.
2/13/2008 The Annie ComedyMe: "I had a really weird dream!"
Farhad: "Really? What happened?"
Me: "In the dream, I was at school-" Farhad: "You're right, that's SO weird!"
Me: "......I don't skip that much anymore, you know."
Farhad: "Hahaha." I haven't worked for two months.
I'm amazed that I'm not broke.
I told Nina this.
She said, "Well, even if you were broke, what's Farhad for?"
I mailed a postcard to my grandparents, and it got returned because I forgot to put postage on it.
My sister and mom had a good laugh over this.
Apparently I'm an elite English student because I aced our quiz, and got a good mark on a paper when half the class failed.
So my English professor called me the group leader of the class.
Unfortunately I didn't hear her, because I was busy drawing on my agenda.
The silence was what made me look up.
Not so elite now.
2/1/2008 Old people I feel so sad when I see old people running for the bus and missing it.
Especially when they are really trying, and just miss the bus by seconds.
Then they just stand there looking disappointed as the bus drives away; it breaks my heart.
